Golden Sun: Crossover
Chapter 1

*Vale - Eastern/Middle Sector - 3 years ago*

"We brought help!" Edward Elric yelled through the storm. As he, Broken, and Pan ran down the riverbank, they saw Link trapped in a whirlpool.

"Get Link out or he'll drown!" One of their friends yelled from the docks of a house on the river. They weren't visible, due to the rain and wind.

"Too late!" Ed pointed to the mountain called Aleph. A massive boulder fell down!

"Run!!!" Broken yelled. But only he, Ed, and Pan managed to get out of range. The boulder smashed into Link and their 3 friends...

Broken's eyes opened. He sat up, staring at the wreckage of the house in horror. "No..."

"Please! Don't leave me...." Pan begged, tears barely noticeable with the rain running down her face.

"They might still be alive! We just need to get them out before they drown!" Edward yelled.

"...Right! I'll go get help!" Broken ran back to the town plaza.

"Wait! I'll come too!" Ed followed, but was far behind.

*Vale - Plaza sector - 3 years ago*

As he approached the plaza, Broken heard two people talking above them.

"This storm...who knew Sol Sanctum had this much power?!"

"It's a miracle we survived..."

"Wait. I hear somebody. Step back!"

"Broken, wait!" Ed finally caught up to him.

"Were you eavesdropping on us?"

Broken backed away. "No..."

"Broken, are you sure you should be talking to these guys?"

"You must forget everything you heard."

"I'll knock them out! You erase their memories!"

A red-skinned man in black armor jumped down and punched Broken in the gut! He fell down hard.

"Broken! You..." Ed leapt up and kicked the man in the face! but he grabbed Ed's leg and smashed him into the wall! The leg itself completely tore off!! The man simply tossed the limb behind him.

Screaming in pain, a bloody Edward managed to get up using his left arm to make up for the loss of his left leg. But the man lifted his hand, which began to glow green. "I am the great Ganondorf! You are nothing!" The light shot out of his hand and soared straight toward Ed! He blocked with his right arm, only for it to be torn off! The rest of his body was electrocuted as he fell unconscious.

"Finish them, Vaati!" Ganon instructed.

A purple wind of darkness consumed Broken and Edward...

*Vale - Eastern/Middle sector - Present Day*

Pan walked up the hill. "Tee hee! Still training, Ed?"

Edward transmuted a stone pillar. "Yep. I'm coming along fine. How's yours?"

"Getting better." She looked to the sky. "You know, studying alchemy is so fun I forget why we started in the first place."

"You forget?! 3 years ago, someone knowing Psynergy could've saved Link and maybe 3 of our friends. But if we knew enough, we could've been that someone. Broken and I set out with a purpose. You just came along when you say how much fun we were having."

"You don't have to say it like that..." Pan turned around and stared at Ed's automail arm. His arm and leg were replaced with metal limbs after found him and Broken. Neither of them clearly remembered what had happened to them. "Maybe we could've saved them......and maybe your arm and leg."

"It's not so bad." Ed smiled. "I'd rather have undergone that horrible surgery than sat around a cripple doing nothing for the rest of my life. That reminds me, where's Broken? My dad's probably ready now."

"I dunno. Let's check on him."

"Not right now. I'm in the middle of training. You get him."

Pan glared at him. "Fine. You can train all day. We are going to Mt. Aleph to study alchemy with your father!"

"Pan..." Ed sighed and followed her as she stormed off.

Broken was sleeping on top of his house while fixing the roof (It had several holes in it). Pan turned to Ed and put a finger to her mouth. "Ssh!" She began to climb the ladder to the roof, giggling at what she was planning.

"No..." Ed whispered in horror.

Pan tip-toed next to the sleeping Brokenm and lowered her mouth next to his ear. "......GOOD MORNING!!!!"

"Rah?!" Broken leapt up high into the air and fell off his house with a hard thud. He managed to stand up. "Pan! Do you have any idea what time it is?!"

"Yeah, I do! 11 o'clock! We're already late! C'mon! Hohenheim's waiting for us!"

Broken grumbled a few words under his breath and followed.

*Vale - Western Sector*

"Bah! Hohenheim is so stubborn!"

"Agreed. He wouldn't tell us anything. We'll just have to disarm the traps ourselves. I just hope this trip into Sol Sanctum will go smoother than last...."

Broken, Ed, and Pan approached two people talking. One was a red-skinned man in black armor and the other was a blue-haired boy in purple robes.

The boy noticed them. "Were you eavesdropping on us?"

"Yeah. And?" Ed challenged.

"Why you-!" The man growled.

"Hold yourself, Ganondorf. Do you three have business with Hohenheim?"

"Yes..." Broken said cautiously.

"Fine then. Go."

"Vaati, are you sure?" Ganondorf asked.

"We have no reason to delay these children any longer. There's nothing left for us here. Let's go." Vaati and Ganondorf walked away.

"Hmph. 'Children'? I bet I'm twice that kid's age." Ed mumbled.

"But not twice his height. Closer to half." Pan mocked.

"Don't call me a-!" Ed raged.

"Forget them. Your dad's waiting for us." Broken moved on.

Hohenheim Elric stood outside his cottage, very worried. Then he noticed his son and his friends. "Hi, Edward. Broken. Pan. Just in time. Are you kids ready?"

"Did you know those two?" Ed asked.

"Not really. They called themselves Ganondorf and Vaati. They knew more about Sol Sanctum than I do. They spoke of it as if they had seen it with their own eyes..."

"No way! Sol Sanctum is forbidden!" Pan insisted. "We only get to go inside because we have special permission from Vale Sanctum, Mr. Elric!"

"Please, just call me Hohenheim."

"But that's so long!" Pan complained. "How about 'Hoh'?"

Everyone but Pan blushed. That just sounded wrong. Broken didn't want to explain it, but had no choice now. "Pan, that word...it's...uh...a woman who-"

"What? Hoh?"

"Y-yeah. That. You shouldn't...er..."

"What's it mean?"

"Um....How about we call Mr. Elric just 'H' for now?"

"..." Hohenheim rolled his eyes. "Whatever. The point is those two must be theives."

"Yeah. It's the only logical explanation." Ed agreed. "But we have to make sure first."

"We'll kill two birds with one stone. Let's go into Sol Sanctum like we planned before, check it out, and decide whether or not they've been inside." Broken suggested.

"Excellant idea. Let's go." Hohenheim walked with them to Vale Sanctum, which was at the entrance to Mt. Aleph and Sol Sanctum. One of the preists stood guard.

"Ah, Hohenheim. I was told you had permission to study Sol Sanctum today. Since they're under your supervision, the kids may enter too."

"Thank you. I accept full responsibility for them."

"Good, good. You may proceed."

*Sol Sanctum*

The sanctum just looked like some old ruins. Soldier statues were arranged throughout the whole room.

"Hmm..." Hohenheim frowned in disappointment.

"Something wrong?" Broken asked.

"Well, this is Sol Sanctum, right? A realm honoring the sun. So, logically speaking, there should be some symbol of the sun. A mosaic, a statue, anything. But there isn't one here."

"...Perhaps there is more." Ed suggested.

"More? More what?" Pan was confused.

"A door to the inner sanctum."

"I don't see any doors, Ed."

Broken saw something odd behind one of the statues. He began to push it aside. "Then perhaps there is..." Behind the statue was a pathway. "A secret entrance."

They walked in to see a large section of the room had a tile of the sun. "I knew it." Hohenheim smiled.

"This definitely honors the sun." Broken agreed. "But I still feel like there should be more to it, y'know?"

"Hey, there's a switch on the wall." Edward noticed.

As his son approached it, Hohenheim stopped him. "Wait, Ed. This seems too easy. I think this is the trap Ganondorf and Vaati spoke of."

"...Wait. So they were here!" Pan realized. "We've got to tell the villagers!"

"No, not yet. We've come too far to turn back. Let's try and disarm the trap."

"How?" Broken asked.

Pan noticed a flight of stairs in a corner of the room. "Maybe up there."

Upstairs was yet another room. There were smaller statues and a large one in the middle. Also, two switches were next to the larger one.

Hohenheim observed this and got an idea. "Ed, Broken. Push those two statues into those switches."

Slowly, they pushed. Broken's statue was the first to hit its switch. It glowed and a ray of light shone in front of the large statue. When Ed finished, his did the same. The lights converged and opened up a hole!

"Good! Now push the large one into that hole!"

"I got this one." Pan used a Psynergy called Move to mentally push the statue. They heard a loud click when it entered the hole.

"And I believe the trap has been disarmed." Hohenheim announced.

They went downstairs and pressed the switch. They jumped back as the switch emitted a portal! Reluctantly, they entered...

*Sol Sanctum - Inner Realm*

The true heard of the sanctum was in a giant cave. Stone platforms had risen up around a larger central one, where a portal and the group stood.

"Wow!" Pan looked around.

"The true Sol Sanctum." Ed grinned in triumph.

"Magnificent." Broken agreed.

Hohenheim pointed and smiled in awe. "Would you look at that."

He was pointing to one of the four statues on the four corner platforms of the cave. "The Elemental Stars...they exist!"

"Are you serious?!" Edward demanded. "No way!"

Broken and Pan stood confused. "Uh...what?"

"The Elemental Stars can unleash alchemy upon the world when each star has unlocked the power of their respective Elemental Lighthouse. Then their lights converge at Mt. Aleph and give birth to the Stone of Sages." Ed explained.

"Now that I've heard of." Broken said. "With that single stone, all the powers of Psynergy and alchemy are within the wielder's grasp."

"Or so the legend goes." Hohenheim finished. "Very good, boys. You are correct. Those very same stars lie before us."

Pan got an idea. "Make the boys go get it!"

"What?!" Broken and Ed demanded.

"Really? Will you go get them?" Hohenheim asked.

"Fine." Broken sighed. He and Ed jumped across the platforms and reached the first star. As it turns out, the statued was holding it.

"This would be the Venus Star, representing Earth." Ed explained as he grabbed it.

"Good! Now go get the others!" Hohenheim called.

They jumped a few more platforms and arrived at the next statue. Broken grabbed it. "And this would be Mercury, representing water, right?"

"Good! Now go get the others!"

"Don't say the same thing every time, Dad." Ed mumbled.

Then they came to the third star. Edward grabbed this one too. "And this is the Jupiter Star of wind."

THey waited for Hohenheim's reply. But it did not come. Confused, Broken and Ed turned around......and jumped in fear.

"We'll be taking those stars now, if you value your friends lives." Ganondorf grinned. He and Vaati were holding Pan and Hohenheim hostage.

"No, Edward! You musn't let them get the stars!"

"Quiet, old man." Vaati hit him on the head. "Shut it if you wanna live."

"Our terms are simple. Give us the Elemental Stars and these two go freely. We'll release them safe and unharmed, and you'll all be on your way out of here. Heck, we won't even bother you or Vale again. Got it?" Ganondorf explained.

"Just kill them, Broken!" Pan yelled.

"That won't be necessary." A voice said. A man in a green tunic dropped down from the portal. He had on a mask that looked like a yellow rabbit face.

"So you've arrived." Vaati greeted.

"Don't change the subject!" Ed yelled. "What guarantee do we have that you'll set them free?!"

"A guarantee? Ah, I have one." Ganondorf turned to the masked man. "You will have to remove your mask."

"M-my mask? But that means..."

"Yes, he will be our guarantee." Vaati agreed.

"Remove your Keaton Mask!" Ganondorf ordered.

"...Okay. I'll take it off." The man removed it.

Pan gasped. "I-i-it -c-can't be..."

It was Link. "I know I've cause you guys much grief."

"But why? Why did you leave us...?"

"That's....incredible. We saw you get crushed by that boulder 3 years ago." Broken remembered.

"Now you see why he's our guarantee. He'd never let anything happen to Pan and Hohenheim." Vaati explained.

"Now give. Us. THE STARS!!!" Ganon roared.

"Should we?" Broken looked at Ed.

"......No. They could rule the world with the Stone of Sages. So many lives would be lost. I hate to say it, but their lives out weigh two. Even if the two are Pan and Dad..."

"..." Broken frowned. "I think you're wrong." He punched Ed and grabbed the stars! "Sorry." Then he jumped across some platforms.

Another man materialized in front of Broken! He wore blue robes and light blue hair. "Hand the stars to me."

"Ah! Alex, you're late!" Vaati called. "Alex is another of our accomplices. Hand the stars to him."

"...Okay."

"I'm afraid there's a little more." Alex said.

Broken and Ed looked up at him, confused.

"I'm afraid you have misunderstood us." Ganondorf grinned. "You will bring us ALL the Elemental Stars!"

They gritted their teeth and jumped across more platforms to the fourth and final statue. Broken grabbed the Mars Star of fire.

"Ahh!" Pan yelled.

"What the hell?!" Alex demanded.

Broken and Ed swirled around. And old man in white robes was hovering above.

"What incredible power!" Vaati exclaimed.

That power was so great the cave began to shake! Rocks and stalagtites fell down!

"He must be the guardian of the stars!" Hohenheim realized.

"We're no match for him. He'll kill us all!" Ganondorf turned to the portal. "We're leaving."

Link grabbed him. "What?! Ganon, you said you would free them!"

"Conditions have changed. And besides, the deal was that we would free them once all 4 stars were found. We only have 3 right now. Until then, Pan and Mr. Elric are hostages."

Link glared at Ganondorf with gritted teeth. "......Fine."

They all exited through the portal. Pan and Alex went last. "Broken, Edward.....don't die!"

After she went, Alex had a few last words. "It's as shame we must leave behind the Mars Star. But I have a feeling you two will survive. We may see it again one day..."

Soon after he went through the portal, the old man's power faded and the trembling stopped. Broken and Edward were hiding behind the Mars statue. They emerged and looked around. The platforms leading back to the portal were gone. Fortunately, the old man was nowhere in sight.

"Well......that went well." Broken said sarcastically.

"Yep, it turned out pretty badly, didn't it?" Ed agreed. "We'd have to sprout wings to get back!"

As Ed walked to the edge of the platform they were on, the old man floated behind them. They spun around.

< It's dangerous here. > He spoke to their thoughts!

"Whaa? You're the one who's dangerous!" Ed pointed.

The old man tilted his head to the side, confused. But then his eyes grew big in fear. The cave began to shake and crumble again! He quickly hovered over the cave and began to use his Psynergy.

< Mt. Aleph...is actually a volcano. Without the stars to stabilize it, Aleph is erupting. >

"Is there anything we can do to stop it?!" Broken demanded.

< No, but I'm using my powers to prevent it from harming Vale. It will erupt, but Vale will not be destroyed."

He continued to pour out Psynergy, trying to slow down the eruption. < But you two should get out of here. >

Ed looked around at the lack of platforms. "How?"

< Oh. Right. > The old man teleported them back to the room with the sun tile.

"Wait! Who are you?!" Broken yelled.

The old man's "thought-voice" was faint. < I am the Ellimist. But that doesn't matter! Go now!!! >

"Don't have to tell me twice! Let's go!" Edward and Broken ran out of Sol Sanctum. When they reached the village, they were panting.

"That...was...too close......" Ed huffed.

"Edward! Broken!" A voice called.

It was the villagers of Vale. The head priest of Vale Sanctum stepped forward. "What happened?"

"..." Ed and Broken didn't know where to begin.

"Where's your father, Ed? And Pan?" The mayor asked.

"..."

"It seems you boys have some explaining to do. Come. Inside." The priest ordered.

*Vale Sanctum*

In one hour's time, Broken and Edward had explained everything. They had been through a lot.

"So Pan and Hohenheim have been captured. Link is alive and traveling with Vaati, Ganondorf, and Alex and lighting the elemental lighthouses." The mayor summarized.

Ed turned to the head priest. "You've been awful quiet during all this, sir. What's wrong?"

"...During your explanation the Ellimist spoke to my mind. He says that it is up to you two to stop them."

"!!!"

"Your holiness, they are but children!" The mayor insisted. "You cannot expect-!"

"The Ellimist has spoken."

"..." The all looked down sadly.

"So when do we leave?" Broken asked, a look of determination on his face.

"Dude, you're not seriously-" Ed began.

"Yeah, I am. We need to rescue your dad and Pan. We might as well stop Ganondorf and Vaati while we're at it."

"...You're right. So, when?"

"I'm afraid we do not have much time......tommorrow." The priest decided.

Broken and Edward stood there, stunned. Nobody knew if they would come back alive. But they accepted.

"Tommorrow then." The mayor sighed.

Hehe.... It's funny because of the characters, despite the serious plot... Me likes.

Heh heh. Thanks! Ever since I made that Animal Crossing/That 70's Show thing I've done more and more of these. Cast listings for Kingdom Hearts II are done and Tales of Symphonia listing is currently under construction.

Anyway, I've come up with some very interesting ideas for GS-Crossover in the future. For example, the people on the river who create Doom Dragon. Or how I'm putting the dark, slightly evil Shadow the Hedgehog as the peaceful Ivan. Or who plays Tret and Babi. And I'm also skipping a few plotless chapters (the areas after Kolima-Mercury saga through Kalay and the beginning of GSII to Lemuria). I've been disturbed by how little plot GSII has that contributes to the whole general plot of GS as a whole. 4/5 of the whole damn game is plotless. When I realized that, part of me died inside.

So many characters in my story, so little room:

Villains: Ganondorf, Tret, Saturos, Alex, Jurassic Park dinos, Dais(Warlor

:XD: A great deal of most video games is pointless running out. Reference Zelda.

Well I admit plot is fading. Definitely Four Swords. Probably Minish Cap too (though you gotta love those Kinstones...) But the biggest mystery is the plot of Twilight Princess. Now THAT could easily be the coolest game ever. If it had a decent online play and voicing, it would wipe Halo 2 off the face of the planet. But I'm so curious as to exactly what time TP happens! Is it the Majora's Mask Link grown up? Is it the OOT Adult Link in an alternate future where Ganondorf never took over Hyrule? Or is he, like WW Link, a descendant of the original Link, except before WW time? I'm so pumped!

Hehe, I'm hoping Nintendo hasn't cancelled it's release for the Gamecube, since they're all so hyped up about the Wii. If they do that, I'll probably never be able to play...
